Two men were injured in a head-on morning crash at the entrance to the Watauga campus of CCC&TI.  The wreck occurred just after 9am and involved a small Acura sport sedan and a Chevrolet pickup truck, the impact causing the truck to ride up on the hood of the small car before sliding off, landing in a ditch.  Trooper Alexander said that the sedan was driven by 25-year old Richard Shields Miller, who was turning left onto the drive to the campus.  He told trooper Alexander that he looked away to check for traffic, then looked back to find the truck right on top of him.  Truck driver William Anthony Ashley, 29, told Alexander that he crested the hill to find the Acura in his lane making his turn with no time to react.   Watauga Medics transported the injured to Watauga Medical Center while Boone Fire worked first aid and traffic control, with traffic at a stand-still in both directions.  Both men were released after treatment, according to trooper Alexander, who cited both drivers, William Anthony Ashley with a Fictitious Tag, Failure to Register the vehicle, and No Insurance, while Richard Shields Miller was cited for Failure to Yield
