Remember veterans during holidays, governor says PDF Print

Governor Mike Easley urged state residents to remember North Carolina’s veterans and their families this holiday season, especially those veterans in N.C. State Veterans Nursing Homes.

By sending cards, wish-list gifts or making donations, you can help make the holidays brighter for a veteran in need, he says. Easley encourages businesses and community groups to participate.


Needs at the homes include magazine racks, sweatpants and sweatshirts (sizes large or extra large), socks, lotion and DVDs.

Donations can be made directly to the facilities or by mail.


Contributions received through the nonprofit Friends of the N.C. State Veterans Homes are tax deductible.  Monetary contributions can be made to:
