ASU makes Football History, Voice says PDF Print
Sunday, 16 December 2007 19:00

asu_07_champs_023_small.jpg David Jackson, voice of the Mountaineers says it will be awhile before the world grasps what ASU has accomplished with a three-peat National title.

“What it did do in the immediate was shine a great light on the university and on the community and serve as another great thing for us to rally around.”

They couldn’t have done it without defense.

“We heard so much about Delaware being able to move it offensively and that we couldn’t stop it, and that defense played their best game of the entire year. It was almost like graduation day.”

Speaking of graduation- seniors like Trey Elder and Corey Lynch played their last ASU game Friday.

“It’s going to be weird to think about life without them here… but the good thing is, they’ve been able to mentor some guys.”

Chancellor Kenneth Peacock says to start reserving hotel rooms in Chattanooga now for December 12- they’re a lot cheaper in advance, he says. Jackson says it’s a good bet.
