Todd Trio Charged in Drug, Moonshine Counts PDF Print

Three Todd area resident have been arrested after a weekend bust that led to drugs—and an operating still. Last Thursday, narcotics detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office  executed a search warrant on a residence at 2114 Longhope Road in Todd, obtaining the warrant due to drug activity reported at the residence and observed by detectives.  Serving the search warrant, detectives found and seized multiple plastic bags with marijuana, 2 growing marijuana plants, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a moonshine still.  A firearm was also located in the residence.  All that led to the arrest of Martin Dwayne Miller, 33, of the 2114 Longhope Road address who was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Manufacture Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance, Manufacture Non Tax Paid Liquor, Possession of Liquor Equipment, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The release went on to say that Miller is a convicted felon and cannot legally possess a firearm, causing him to be charged with Possession of a Firearm by Felon.  Miller is currently being held in lieu of a $21,000 secured bond.  Michael Ray Rash, 28, also listing 2114 Longhope Road, Todd as his address, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Manufacture Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance, Manufacture Non Tax Paid Liquor, Possession of Liquor Equipment, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rash was released under a $16,000 secured bond.  And Laurel Allison West, 27, also of 2114 Longhope Road, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Manufacture Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance, Manufacture Non Tax Paid Liquor, Possession of Liquor Equipment, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  West was held in lieu of a $16,000 secured bond and all three are scheduled to appear in District Court on October 31st.
