Allegations made: Caldwell teacher’s aide not identified PDF Print

A Caldwell County teaching assistant and bus drive has resigned after accusations of “inappropriate touching” of a student.

That Whitnel Elementary School teacher has not been identified since no charges have been filed- but Lenoir Police Department is investigating. School officials say the employee in question has been with the school system for several years. Lenoir Police Department encourages parents who have additional incidents to report to come forward. The first accusation was made last week, and an immediate investigation was launched. The employee was suspended on December 5 and resigned on Monday. School officials sent a letter home with Whitnel students explaining the situation and assuring parents the school is safe.
