Some Hens Can’t Fly PDF Print
Wednesday, 12 December 2007 10:42

As excitement for Friday’s sold-out FCS National Championship game between Appalachian State and Delaware heats up, so have some Delaware tempers.

Some Blue Hens fans discovered the university accidentally sold tickets reserved for a special charter trip to the game in Chattanooga.

An undetermined number of fans bought a spot in a $775 per-person package tour arranged by Uniglobe Charlie B. Travel. The package included a flight to Chattanooga and tickets to the Friday game. Fans say the University of Delaware failed to hold the tickets, forcing Uniglobe to cancel the trip.

The package had been highly advertised on local radio. While the agency has refunded the money, fans still feel they got the shaft.

The Division I-AA championship game between the Hens and the Mountaineers has been sold out since last weekend.

While some Hens fans may not be attending, Aisling Broadcasting’s own Jon Freeman and James Jestes will be at the game- bringing you live coverage of Chattanooga tailgating Friday. Listen to the game on-air and on-line at
