A consulting company has been hired to conduct an in-depth
review of the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the Associated Press reports.
Officials announced yesterday that international consulting
firm Kroll Inc. will be conducting the $98,000 review, evaluating the agency’s
hiring, training and promoting policies.
Governor Mike Easley ordered the review earlier this
year after several state troopers resigned or were fired for misconduct during
