Bomb squad seizes possible explosives in Boone PDF Print
Tuesday, 11 December 2007 11:06

Boone Police officers searched an abandoned house on Junaluska Road, believed to contain explosives.

An anonymous tip led to the search. The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit’s Bomb Squad assisted Boone officers, and Watauga Medics and Boone Fire Department were on standby. A rifle and suspected explosive material were seized. The materials are currently being tested to determine if they are, in fact, explosives. Investigation is continuing to determine the owner of the property and the circumstances surrounding the seized items.
