Officials continue to investigate Blowing Rock death PDF Print

Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened to Blowing Rock’s 50-year-old Sharon Yates.
Yates was discovered dead at her camper home on Clarence Newton Road at 11:30 p.m. on November 28. Medical examiner reports say the cause of death was “blunt force chest trauma, secondary to a pedestrian, motor vehicle accident.” Police have yet to release more information. The State Bureau of Investigations is assisting the Watauga Sheriff’s Office in the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 828-264-3761.
