Trees for Troops in Camp LeJeune PDF Print
Monday, 10 December 2007 18:00

Friday’s shipment of Trees for Troops was a success.

Since 2005, the Trees for Troops effort has donated Christmas trees to families of deployed servicemen. Over 750 of those trees traveled to Camp LeJeune from Cline Church Nursery in Fleetwood Friday. <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->

Organizers of the program expect 17,000 total trees will be sent this year. It’s come a long way from just over 4,000 trees the first year.

This year was unique in that retailers allowed customers to purchase a tree and donate it right away to Trees for Troops.
