Watauga County is developing a new plan, and a series of community meetings should help officials decide where the county is going.Planning and Inspections Director Joe Furman hopes you’ll show up and participate.
“We want to try and get out into every area of the county where people live to get input on our planning process.”
To do this, they’ve chosen to meet at each of the eight elementary schools, as well as locations in Triplett and Foscoe. Furman hopes that covers all the major communities in the county.
“The end result of this, which will be in a couple of years, is we’ll have a new plan for the county.”
With six meetings left, there’s still plenty of time to participate in the Citizens Plan for Watauga. The next meeting is tonight at Green Valley Elementary School. A schedule is available at goblueridge.net.
If you can’t make a meeting- you can still participate. A survey is available at wataugacounty.org.
Note: Tonight's Citizens Plan for Watauga Meeting at Green Valley Elementary School has been cancelled due to inclement weather concerns. It has yet to be rescheduled.
