Injuries Slight as Child Struck by Car PDF Print

Blowing Rock Police have updated an accident from Friday afternoon in which an 8-year old child was struck by a car. According to the accident report, the 8 year old boy ran out into the roadway from between parked vehicles on Sunset Drive and was struck by a 1999 Nissan driven by Ashley Nicole Cooper of Blowing Rock. The accident occurred just before 3:00 pm, and paramedics from Blowing Rock Fire and Rescue along with Watauga Medics responded to the scene. The child was transported to Watauga Medical Center where he was treated and released.  Deyton Turpin, the investigating officer said Cooper and witness stated that the child came out from between the parked vehicles and that Cooper had no time to react, and no charges were filed in the incident.
