Sheriff warns about Break-ins PDF Print
Wednesday, 05 December 2007 08:46

Watauga County Sheriff Len Hagaman is concerned about a series of home break-ins at the eastern end of the county around Deep Gap.

It takes a vigilant community to prevent theft, Hagaman says.

"Watch out for suspicious folks in your neighborhood, that's the biggest thing."

Neighbors should look out for each other, he says.

"There's so much going on in the county right now with construction and visitors and ball games. We're used to a lot of traffic, but I think sometimes that can be a curse and a blessing at the same time. We may not be as vigilant.

Lock your doors, and if you notice anyone suspicious or wish to report a break-in, call the Sheriff’s Office at 828-264-3761.
