Wednesday, 05 December 2007 08:20

The State Bureau of Investigations and Watauga County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the death of a 50-year-old woman in Blowing Rock and Sheriff Len Hagaman is optimistic that he’ll have answers in the next week.

Sharon Yates of Clarence Newton Road was found dead at her camper home just after 11:30 p.m. on November 28. Officials began seriously investigating the case after a medical examiner returned with a report naming the cause of death as “blunt force chest trauma, secondary to a pedestrian, motor vehicle accident.”

Investigators are still conducting interviews, Hagaman says. He expressed confidence in his department today, saying he hopes to have more information to release soon.
