Deep Gap Man Arrested in Wilkesboro PDF Print

A Deep Gap man was arrested late Monday night by Wilkesboro Police as they were checking a property and found the man, armed with a large knife.  Just after 11:30 Monday night, 28-year old Bobby Scott Taylor was spotted walking among tractor trailers parked on a lot behind the Blimpies on US 421, the officer spotting a large knife with its orange handle protruding from his pants pocket. Taylor was detained while his name was run for a warrants check, that report showing outstanding warrants, but while running the name, another officer reported that there might be a gun involved, as he was working a gun theft case.  A search of the area turned up a rusty handgun, serial numbers filed off the weapon, but officers were unable to definitively tie the gun to Taylor, and he was served the outstanding warrants—failure to appear on two assault counts—and the James Mountain Road man was jailed under $5000 bond.
