Appalachian State University Police apprehended a Virginia man they say is responsible for a sexual battery and an assault on Sunday.

University Police received a report that a man assaulted a female student by grabbing her buttock in front of Doughton Residence Hall. It was later reported that a male matching the same description assaulted another female student in front of East Residence Hall by grabbing her arm when she refused to allow him inside the building.

University Police officers have charged 41-year-old William Anthony Nibblett with sexual battery and simple assault. Nibblett has been banned from campus.  Captain Eddie Rector says if he’s caught on campus again, he’ll face trespassing charges.

Nibblett lists his home address as Martinsville, Virginia. University Police say he is living in a local hotel while doing construction work in the area.
