‘Everlasting Love’ house up for auction PDF Print
Monday, 03 December 2007 22:11

A piece of music history is being auctioned Saturday, and experts estimate it will earn well over a million dollars.

It’s the custom-built home of rock legend Mac Gayden, composer of the hit song “Everlasting Love.”

Tom McInnis of Iron Horse Auctions says that’s not all Gayden is famous for. He also wrote “She Shot a Hole in my Soul” and developed a method of playing the guitar. The Blowing Rock home was an important part of Gayden’s music process.

Gayden had the home custom-built as a music retreat, complete with a recording studio.

The house is located east of Boone, just south of the parkway in the Blackwood section of Powderhorn Mountain near Laurelmor Development. The auction will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Inn.

McInnis says Gayden’s family is trying to cut down on travel time and will live full-time at their Tennessee property.
