Boone Police Department officials say an August 15 break-in has been solved.

The incident happened during the early morning hours of August 15.

Police say 30-year-old Joshua Duerr Pate of Boone entered an apartment on Howard Street through a rear window while the two occupants of the apartment were sleeping. Camera equipment, computer software, and a cell phone are among the items alleged taken. Pate is also alleged to have taken a set of car keys and stolen a 2004 Honda Civic parked at the residence.

The car was discovered on August 16 in Alexander County.

Monday, Pate was charged with one count of first-degree burglary, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering and one count of larceny of a motor vehicle. He was held on a $25,000 secured bond.
