Charges against Sawmills murder suspect Jerry Anderson have been dismissed.
District Attorney James C. Gaither announced the decision today to dismiss the charges without prejudice. That means Gaither could refile them in the future.
In July, Anderson was tried for the 2006 murder of his wife, Emily Anderson. It was a hung jury. Jurors voted 11-1 in favor of acquittal.
Anderson was accused of murdering Emily and stuffing her body in the toolbox of her pickup truck.
Gaither says the case is still being investigated and finding out what happened to Emily Anderson is still a priority.
