Arrest made in Friday accident PDF Print

Boone police have made an arrest in connection with a serious Friday night accident on N.C. Highway 105.

Just before 11 p.m. a Ford Explorer rear-ended a Lexus SUV near the Poplar Hill intersection. The Explorer driver, 24-year-old Juan Manuel Juarez Reyes, has been arrested and charged with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license and three felony charges of causing serious injury. The condition of his passenger has not been released. The Lexus had four occupants. Boone Police Officer Josh Watkins says their conditions and identities have not been released- but he tells us to expect a press release Sunday. Unconfirmed reports from a source within Highway Patrol say there was one fatality. Boone Police Department responded to the wreck and cannot confirm a fatality at this time.
