The New Watauga High School: Something to be thankful for PDF Print
Wednesday, 21 November 2007 18:00

Watauga County freshmen have something to be thankful for- a new high school that will be complete in 2010.

Superintendent Dr. Bobbie Short says it’s really coming along.

“The site is very different from the site we started with. We’ve been doing work over there, of course, for almost two months now, so it looks very different. It’s really progressing.”

Construction on the building itself could begin early spring- depending on the weather.

“We’re just so proud of the site and proud that we’re going to soon begin the building.”

While Short is retiring at the end of this school year- she’ll still attend the opening, an event she anticipates will be very personal.
