Stage One Water Shortage Conditions not letting up PDF Print

Boone’s still in Stage 1 water shortage conditions- and Public Utilities director Rick Miller says it’s not going to let up anytime soon.

Recent rainfalls has done wonders to the water supply, but that’s not good enough for Governor Mike Easley. With an approaching dry winter, he’s worried about the potential for drought next summer.

A dry winter and spring could make next summer even worse than the current drought.

Miller urges Boone residents to conserve over the holidays.
