|Ring that bell|

It takes a special person to be a Salvation Army bell ringer. Just ask Jerry Walker who’s heading up the volunteer effort in Watauga.
All ages are welcome- as long as they can commit a few hours.
It’s not about just standing around, he says.
It’s about ringing the bell to remind people they’re helping local people.
Money raised goes to local charities in Watauga and Avery counties, who in turn, distribute the funds locally to those in need.
If you’re up for the challenge, give Walker a call. He’s currently looking for individuals and groups who think they’ve got what it takes to be a Salvation Army bell ringer.
Walker’s office number is 828-264-8777.
