Election Canvassing Today PDF Print
Monday, 12 November 2007 22:01

Today’s the day election results become official.

Election canvassing is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Provisional ballots will be counted, and Beech Mountain’s election results will be decided. Three provisional votes have not been counted- and those votes will decide which incumbent stays on the Beech Mountain council. While Alan Holcombe and incumbent Rick Owen have their seats secured with 113 and 88 votes respectively, incumbents Randy Corn and Paul Piquet are tied for third at 64 votes each. With only three slots available, today’s canvassing should decide the election.

Blowing Rock is waiting on two provisional ballots, but that’s not enough to make a difference. Nor are the 69 provisional ballots yet to be counted in Boone. Seven Devils has one provisional ballot. All election results are unofficial until the conclusion of today’s canvassing.
