N.C. Highway 88 between Jefferson and Smethport will soon
see much needed improvements.
A public hearing has been set for November 29.
The topic- the latest plan for improvement. The plan includes four alternative
ways to fix the 1.6-mile stretch of the highway. Some improvements discussed in
the past include widening the road into a four-lane. The hearing is from 4 to 7
p.m. in the Ashe County High School cafeteria. Interested parties can attend
anytime during the hearing to see the plans and ask questions.
