Toys destroyed in blaze PDF Print
Thursday, 08 November 2007 20:41
A fire at an unoccupied home on Celia Creek Road in Gamewell yesterday destroyed several antique toys.
Toy collector David Robbins has been collecting the antique toys for the past fifteen years and storing them in the home left to him by his father. Among toys in the collection were G.I. Joe and Star Wars action figures, Meegos and Lionel toy train sets. Robbins estimated the value of his collection at over $63,000. The collection was not insured. The fire started in the bathroom of the home, likely from cardboard boxes stored too close to an electric heater. There was minimal damage to the home, and the blaze was under control minutes after rescue agencies arrived.
