Aycock takes the race PDF Print

Boone’s hotly contested runoff is over- with planning board member Liz Aycock the clear victor.

Aycock received 749 votes (approximately 53 percent) over incumbent Dempsey Wilcox’s 688 votes. Wilcox has been on the council 12 years- and told us earlier this week he’d never been in a race this heated. Wilcox told us Monday that if things didn’t go his way on Tuesday, he planned to take a short break. Wilcox will then continue to be active in the town of Boone.


All results are unofficial pending Tuesday's Election Canvassing.
