Voter turnout light PDF Print
Tuesday, 06 November 2007 09:59
Word from Watauga polls: voter turnout has been unexpectedly light.

Over 800 people showed up for early voting in the Boone runoff, leading many to expect a large turnout today. Over 2,000 residents voted in Boone's original October election- a record.

The runoff is between planning board member Liz Aycock and incumbent councilman Dempsey Wilcox. In the October race, Aycock beat Wilcox by four votes.

Wilcox requested a revote.

Voting in Blowing Rock, Seven Devils and Beech Mountain is also "very light."

There's still time to vote. Polls close at 7:30 p.m.
