Noel not expected to soothe drought PDF Print
Friday, 02 November 2007 09:02
On a related note, Tropical Storm Noel is forecasted to pass well offshore of North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
While surfers on the coast might feel her effects in the waves, the state as a whole really isn’t going to benefit from the tropical storm, forecasters say. National Weather Service spokesmen are saying rain is going to be spotty at best. The storm is expected to pass off the North Carolina coast by today, interacting with a high pressure system that will produce northerly winds of up to 30 mph, with higher gusts. It’s going to stay offshore and provoke little damage or benefit to North Carolina.
