Rainfall is up at Grandfather PDF Print

Despite the statewide drought, rainfall at Grandfather Mountain was high for the month of October.
Grandfather saw a total of 7.94 inches of rain in October- that’s almost 3 inches, or 37 percent, above the 51-year average rainfall. Despite having a wet October, this year’s total rainfall is just over 42 inches. That’s approximately 12 inches, or 22 percent, below the norm for this time of year.
