Investigation led to Durham, deputies say PDF Print
Thursday, 01 November 2007 05:38
Deputies say an October murder just outside North Wilkesboro was a consequence of a bad business transaction.

North Wilkesboro's Jonathon Whitmore was found shot in the head in a ditch near his residence at the intersection of Holland Street and Mimosa Lane last month.Whitmore owned and operated an environmental cleanup business that removed asbestos.

Yesterday, authorities arrested his Durham-based business associate, 42-year-old Keith Donnell Miles.

The State Bureau of Investigations and Durham Police raided Miles’ home yesterday, according to officials within Wilkes Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say the motive was a business transaction, but won't elaborate. Officers were in Durham the day Whitmore’s body was found- and have been looking at Miles for sometime.
