Laurelmor: 2,750 acre Conservation Easement to Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust PDF Print
Monday, 29 October 2007 19:00

It’s an exciting day for the Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust.

Real estate development firm Ginn Laurelmor is dedicating the first phase of its 2,750 acre conservation easement to the Trust. It's an unprecedented partnership, officials say.

The first phase covers more than 600 acres and includes 64 miles of trout streams and 20 acres of wetlands, as well as a sanctuary for rare plants, birds, reptiles and other wildlife. Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust is a non-profit land trust that seeks to protect land in northwest North Carolina. The dedication happens today at 3 p.m. at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center on the campus of Appalachian State University.
