Real estate development
firm Ginn Laurelmor is dedicating the first phase of its 2,750 acre
conservation easement to the Trust. It's an unprecedented partnership, officials say.
The first phase covers more than 600 acres
and includes 64 miles of trout streams and 20 acres of wetlands, as well as a
sanctuary for rare plants, birds, reptiles and other wildlife. Blue Ridge Rural
Land Trust is a non-profit land trust that seeks to protect land in northwest
The dedication happens today at 3 p.m. at the Broyhill
Inn and Conference Center on the campus of Appalachian State University.
