Ashe County Middle School recognized nationally PDF Print
Monday, 29 October 2007 19:00
Ashe County Middle school is one of the top middle schools in the nation according to the International Center for Leadership in Education.
Schools officials made a presentation at July’s Model Schools Conference in Washington D.C, and that may be only the beginning. The School expects a visit from the National Association of Secondary School Principals in December to verify an application for recognition. The school, along with being recognized as a model school, received a request to be involved in the NASSP’s Break Through Schools program, which targets high achieving middle schools. If the school is verified as a model Break Through School, it will receive $5,000 and inclusion in a national magazine.
