A double homicide from just under two years ago has now sent Jeremy Daniel Russom, to prison for the rest of his life after sentencing yesterday in Watauga Court.  The 29-year old was sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty Monday to first-degree murder, and was sentenced by Judge Gary Gavenus. Russom was charged in November 2010 with the murders of Heather Baumgardner, the mother of his children, and her boyfriend, Barry Cook, at Baumgardner's home on Mabel School Road in Zionville. He was the subject of a massive search that ended when he was arrested about four hours after the shooting. He was caught  after arranging to meet family members in Foscoe, then fled from officers near Country Retreat Family Billiards in Foscoe. The son of Baumgardner and Russon, 6-years old at the time, witnessed the killings, according to the investigation.  Russom apparently broke into the house and awaited Baumgardner, 24, and Cook, 39, then shot and killed both before fleeing.
