img_1412_small.jpgLocals dominated the Appalachian Skatepark Council’s Fall Fest Skateboard Contest Saturday. 

Buzz Berryimg_1425_small.jpgIt was a good turnout according to MC Buzz Berry. Proceeds from the event benefit the park. The skate park is important to local kids, Berry says, because it provides a safe place for kids to get together and skate. The beginner’s division had a good turnout, with Boone’s Christian Ludwig dominating the pack. In first in the Intermediate’s Division was Gus Gordon of Boone. Kyle Winters of Boone place first in the Advanced Division, and Timmy Ollis of Banner Elk placed first in the sponsored division.
