Still no suspect named in Friday murder PDF Print
Tuesday, 23 October 2007 06:14

Wikes deputies are still investigating the discovery of a body found in a ditch on Friday.

43-year-old Jonathan Whitmore was found, shot in the head, near his residence at the intersection of Holland Street and Mimosa Lane just after 7 a.m. Detective Steve Cabe would not comment as to whether authorities have a suspect in what appears to be a homicide.

"We're still in the process of pursuing leads, examining evidence, and, hopefully, as this endeavor continues, we will obtain more information," Cabe said earlier today.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 838-9111.
