Local kid still Endures PDF Print
Sunday, 21 October 2007 20:11

Local kid sensation Caleb Courtney’s still hanging on in Fiji- at least on tv.

Courtney was picked from tens of thousands of kids as one of 16 contestants on Endurance, Discovery Kids’ athletic equivalent to Survivor.

Courtney’s a sophomore at Watauga High School who loves to play basketball and may study marine biology someday. He doesn’t need a lot of words to describe the show’s locale, Fiji.

He says it's amazing, beautiful, his ideal place.

Friends call him “a really great kid.” Bloggers on the Discovery Kids website say he’s “wicked strong.” Courtney says he’s just a regular guy- but the experience has taught him to love the camera.

In fact, with his acting experience at school and in community theatre, he hopes he can hit the big screen someday.

It looks like Endurance is a good start. While Courtney’s not allowed to say how well he did, bloggers anticipate a strong performance. On Saturday’s episode, the groups divided into teams, and, if the preview for next Saturday’s 8:30 show is any indication, things are about to get tougher.
