A 49-year old Denver NC man was injured when thrown from his motorcycle after slamming into two other vehicles in Boone just before noon yesterday.  Boone Police say Gregory Scott Lavoy was airlifted from the helipad at Watauga Medical Center (photos Noah Lockamy, Steve Frank) after the crash at Hardin and Rivers Streets in front of the Holmes Convocation Center yesterday.  Lavoy suffered the severe injuries when his 2006 Harley struck the rear of a 2008 Jeep SUV driven by Asia Chantel Moore of Apex, then the back of a green Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Alexandra Margarita Jolly of Blowing Rock.  Lavoy was thrown from his bike, and was treated on the scene by Watauga Medics and Boone Fire before being rushed to the helipad to meet the WINGS Air Rescue chopper to be flown to the Johnson City Medical center, said to be suffering broken bones, scrapes, and possible head injuries.  Boone Police released an initial report on the accident, but say that they were still investigating.
