A Toyota pickup deputies say may have been stolen by the fugitive turned up in Watauga County yesterday, and authorities don’t think the suspect is far behind.

48-year-old Robert Randal DeLuca was being held for charges that include manufacturing methamphetamine. His last known address was in Boone.

Authorities are trying to get his name out to the public, according to Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece.

Reece thinks he will be found in the Silverstone-Slabtown area of Watauga County.

Reece says DeLuca’s capture is only a matter of time.

DeLuca is 5’11” tall, 165 pounds with brown hair and a bald spot. His eyes are green and his mug shot is available at Anyone who sees DeLuca is asked to call 911.
