4-million dollar shelter comes to Avery PDF Print
Wednesday, 17 October 2007 06:23

Avery County Commissioners had good news for the Avery County Humane Society

this week, director Alice Sudderth says.

Commissioners approved the construction of her dream facility: a 4-million dollar shelter on Heritage Park near Ingles Foods in Newland.

Part of the facility will be on county-owned Heritage Park, and part of it will lie on a tract the Society will have to purchase. Sudderth hopes the new shelter will be open by 2009.
