A motorcyclist was airlifted from the scene of a crash late yesterday afternoon in eastern Watauga County.  Blowing Rock Fire/Rescue and Watauga medics responded to the crash, trooper Searcy saying that the cyclist, a Mr. Duncan from Zebulon, lost control of the cycle going down hill on Reynolds Drive, and near the Stateview Road intersection, hit some gravel and skidded off the road to the left, where he was thrown from his cycle.  Searcy said that only scrapes and cuts were evident as far as injuries at the scene, but the possibility of more serious injuries caused the call for WINGS Air Rescue to meet the Watauga Medics ambulance at the intersection of Aho Road and the Blue Ridge Parkway for the flight to the Johnson City Medical Center.  Charges were not listed by trooper Searcy in the accident.
