UPDATE: Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Watauga Crash PDF Print

In the midst of the tragedy at the sheriff’s office, another on the roads of Watauga, as a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash at on Old US 421 at Roby Greene Road.  The 1pm crash involved the white Ford pickup of John Dewey Jarvis Jr., and the and the motorcycle of Nathan Randall Grose. The State Patrol said that the wreck occurred as Jarvis, 82, was turning from south-bound on Old 421 onto Roby Green Road, where he lives, and did so into the path of the Ferguson man’s motorcycle, traveling north on Old 421.  Watauga Medics and Boone Fire on the scene tried desperately to save the 35-year old cyclist’s life, but reports Nathan Randall Grose was pronounced dead.  The State Patrol closed off both roads for their investigation, said charges are pending completion of that investigation.
