Monday, 15 October 2007 20:38
A Friday incident left a Crumpler man behind bars and his family shaken up.
Authorities say 21-year-old Leif Alvarado of Tahoe Drive held his mother, Elena Alvarado, and sister, Yoshivia Martinez at knifepoint. The women were able to escape when the suspect allegedly passed out after consuming alcohol. They then contacted the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies charged Alvarado with two counts of second degree kidnapping. He was held under a $100,000 secured bond.
