Wilkes men die in wreck PDF Print
Monday, 15 October 2007 07:20
Two Wilkes County men died in a traffic accident over the weekend.
A pickup truck driven by Robert Stephen Brewer flipped over in Brunswick County. Passenger Michael Eller was ejected from the vehicle. Both were killed. Two additional passengers in the backseat were transported to Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport. Troopers say the men were driving to their hotel in Oak Island when Brewer swerved to the right and over-corrected. The vehicle rolled upside down. The incident happened on N.C. 211 just off N.C. 133. There is reason to believe Brewer may have been swerving to avoid an animal, but that remains to be seen, police say. The group was returning from a fishing trip in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
