Bandana Bandit strikes again in Hickory PDF Print
Sunday, 14 October 2007 20:38

The Oriental Express on 12th Avenue in Hickory appears to be the latest victim of a thief police dubbed “the bandana bandit.”

Employees were cleaning up just after 11 p.m. when a man allegedly entered through the backdoor and pointed a rifle at the employees. He made off with the night deposit. Police are looking for a black male, about 5’10” tall with a dark complexion, wearing a dark blue jacket, black ski hat and a blue bandana covering his face. The robbery is similar to incidents at Holiday Foods, the U.S. 70 Wendy’s and the Springs Road KFC. Police have increased patrols in the Springs Road area and say the robberies are their top priority. Two bandana incidents in Conover and Lincolnton at a Kangaroo Express and a Dollar Tree may also be connected. Anyone with information should call Hickory Police at 828-328-5551.
