Tony Wilson thought clouds were gathering in the early morning at about 7:30, thinking there might even be a storm brewing, but it was a metal barn full of equipment that burned to the ground the blaze Wilson discovered just after 7:30 this morning. (video at Boone, Deep Gap and Foscoe fire departments were dispatched to the structure next to 698 Little Laurel Road, finding the building fully involved in flames—but the building just far enough away from Tony Wilson’s frame home next door to keep from spreading.  At least three tractors and other equipment were destroyed along with the building, which firemen had to tear down to reach areas still on fire.  Wilson said that property was that of David Haas, but had no idea how the fire might have started.  Boone Fire has the cause to determine and damage to evaluate, but no injuries were reported in the fire or firefighting effort.
