Freeman farm gets White House visitor PDF Print
Wednesday, 10 October 2007 20:33

Next week, Joe Freeman is expecting an important visitor to his Christmas Tree Farm.

The official White House usher will be at Mistletoe Meadows Farm in Ashe County to select president’s tree. It’s an honor bestowed on Freeman for winning the national Christmas Tree competition.

He's thrilled to have been selected by his peers.

The White House tree must be at least 18 ½ feet tall. Height like that takes time.

Freeman says it takes about 20 years.

Freeman has two trees that make the height requirements.

The usher will be at the farm in Laurel Springs Tuesday at 9 a.m.
