Five Drug Suspects Jailed in Ashe PDF Print

The Ashe County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 5 Ashe County residents Monday related to Opium drug charges. Sheriff James Williams stated the arrests were the result of an undercover sting operation by his narcotics officers on April 16th regarding the sale of Opium, a Schedule I narcotic. The following suspects are presently in the Ashe County Detention Center:

Maggie Michelle Brooks, age 30 of  Lansing was charged with 1 count of Conspiring to Deliver a Schedule I Narcotic, Possession with Intent to Sell a Schedule I narcotic and Possession of a Schedule I narcotic.  Brooks was given a $75,000 bond.
Robert David Mahala, age 34 of  Lansing was charged with 1 count of Conspiring to Deliver a Schedule I Narcotic, Possession with Intent to Sell a Schedule I narcotic and Possession of a Schedule I narcotic.  Brooks was given a $75,000 bond.
William Roby Hicks, age 63 of in West Jefferson was charged with 5 counts of Trafficking Opium and 1 count of Conspiring to Deliver a Schedule I Narcotic.  Hick’s was given a cumulative $75,000 bond.
Michael James Dishman JR, age 34 of  West Jefferson was charged with 1 count of Conspiring to Deliver a Schedule I Narcotic, Possession with Intent to Sell a Schedule I narcotic, Possession of a Schedule I narcotic and Felony Possession of Cocaine.  Dishman was given a cumulative $55,000 bond.
Brian Keith Dishman, age 25 of 718 West Jefferson Ave in West Jefferson was charged with 1 count of Conspiring to Deliver a Schedule I Narcotic.  Dishman was also charged with Possession with Intent to Sell a Schedule II narcotic from a 2011 undercover operation.  Dishman was given a cumulative $55,000 bond.

All 5 suspects are currently being held in the Ashe County Detention Center.
