PAC shook up Election PDF Print
Tuesday, 09 October 2007 23:51

img_1219_small.jpg The introduction of Political Action Committee Citizens for Change shook up the Boone Municipal Election.

Even self proclaimed Progressive Mayor Loretta Clawson, who’s keeping it positive- said it had an impact.

img_1213_small.jpg While Stephen Phillips didn’t agree with the negative campaign adds- he says CFC definitely shook things up.

He says it got people excited about the issues.

CFC Chair Jeff Templeton says it was more than a shake up.

He credits the PAC with bringing record numbers to the polls.

While some say CFC tried to buy council seats, Templeton says that accusation is not only unfounded, but it’s ridiculous.

The PAC never paid people to vote, he says.

CFC isn’t over. Templeton says the group will continue to be active in the community.
