Highs broken again at Grandfather PDF Print
Monday, 08 October 2007 21:53
Saturday and Sunday at Grandfather Mountain reached record-breaking temperatures of over 70 degrees.
At one point, temperatures reached 73 degrees, almost meeting the all-time October high of 75 degrees, set on October 3, 1986. Grandfather officials say the unseasonably warm weather has delayed fall color in the area. Nevertheless, trees on the mountain are changing. Experts predict the color should be at its best in the Grandfather Mountain area over the next two weeks.
